Aide au concept (concept aid for authors)

Run by Région Nouvelle-Aquitaine

A small, early grant for the stage before a treatment exists: research, interviews, location visits. Up to EUR 5,000 for an author alone, judged on the project's artistic quality and the author's path, with one filing date a year. It sits upstream of the region's main writing aid rather than replacing it.

Rules
Authors as natural persons: writer-directors who carry both the writing and the directing intention, and screenwriters working alone or in collaboration. The aid targets a pre-writing phase of research, documentation or scouting, either for a new project after a recently finished work or for an emerging author taking a next step. The fiche read does not state a residency rule.
