Spillefilm, Konsulentordningen (feature film consultant scheme)

Run by Det Danske Filminstitut (Danish Film Institute)

Denmark's main route for features judged on their artistic merit. A screenwriter may ask for script money without a producer attached, which is rare among national funds, and the same consultant can carry the project on into development and production support. Applications go through the Støtteportalen at any time of year.

Rules
Support that covers only the script may go to a director, a writer or a producer, so a screenwriter can apply for that stage alone. Development and production money is paid to a producer. The scheme favors directors who already have a feature behind them.

When to apply

Applications are taken at any time; decisions follow in the fund's own rhythm. Applications are read as they arrive by one of three feature film consultants.

What it gives besides money

A consultant reads and responds to the project through its stages.
